Welcome to The File Database, a free resource for troubleshooting all of your Windows file problems. There are 3 main sections to the site where you can browse our database:
- Startup Files - this section provides a list of possible applications that may try and launch automatically when your system first boots. Many files are not needed or could even be harmful, so you can use this list to check all of your startup entries for problems.
- File Database - all default Windows files are listed here with advanced details, allowing you to find out information about a file that you have on your system. Additional notes are added to these entries where appropriate.
- File Extensions - this database of file extensions is handy when you are looking on information on how to open a specific file type, but aren't sure how to. Just look up the file extension (usually 3 letters) and there should be more information available.
